What do you mean by online and interactive?
With the amazing technology we have today through the internet it is possible to have and hold distant learning online.  Students can interact with the teacher through typing questions and they can listen, view powerpoint slides and the view the teacher as they teach.

What do I need for a computer and internet hook-up?
Computer's cable of high speed internet is preferable.  Systems with a Pentium 4 processor, celeron, or centrino should have no problem. If you have dsl, cable or a satellite internet hook-up; you should be fine.  You will also need to be able to print, have access to email and the ability to hear the instructor through computer speakers or headphones.

Can I use a dial-up modem?
Dial-up will work, however you will not be able to interact as well if you had dsl, cable, or satellite internet hook-up.

Do I need any special programs?
No special programs will be needed.  When you register, you will be given instructions on what you will need to do to access the web site for classes.

Where will the classes be meeting for the weekend sessions?
We are currently in discussions with churches located near Lewisburg and Holidaysburg, PA.  Theses two locations are located centrally in our region.

Who will be teaching the classes?
There will be different instructors depending on the particular class. Pastor Eric Kraihanzel, ABCOPAD's Student Ministry Coordinator, will be carrying most of the teaching load.  Pastor Eric also teaches at Eastern University in the Youth Ministry Department serving as an Adjunct Professor.

What will someone recieve when they finish the course?
Upon completion of the whole one-year track, graduates will be awarded a diploma showing completion in the specialized area of study from their region.   Starting in 2009, students will be awarded a certificate in Youth Ministry from the Youth Ministry Department at Eastern University.

If I am a current Youth Pastor how will I benefit from this course?
If you are currently in a youth ministry position with out any formal training, this course will be a real benefit for you to get some of the extra training while continuing to serve at your churchAlso, if you have interns or lay volunteers looking for extra training they would benefit as well.

How does this track differ from other CLI tracks?
This track of the CLI is offered as1) an addition to the core program for Certified Lay Ministry Preparation program, and 2) an option for laity from within a congregation to become trained to step into a Youth Leader/Director role within their home church.  It is designed to cover specialized training and provide continuing education in the field of Youth Ministry.
